One of the questions that I get asked about most is how to color cold process soap. There are so many option that it can sometimes be hard to pick colorants.
How to Color Soap
So I’ve decided to start a website dedicated to coloring soap. Inspired by Design Seeds, I’m putting together photo inspired color palettes. The round colored circles in each graphic are actually soap that I’ve colored using mica, pigments, natural colorants…etc.!
Visit the website to see more color palettes! I’ll have a ton of more info on the site soon.

Amanda, I missed out on the jewelry becuz as usual I was sick again, it’s from the MS Meds but I’d rather have a cold or stomach bug then let the MS eat my nervous system up without a fight ya know what I mean. Anyway it allowed me to order some of the books that I’ve been wanting and I’ll get the rest ordered hopefully in a few weeks in hopes that y’all get whatever little bit I buy for funds to India in January. Anyway by any chance do u still have any pieces of the colored soap that u made the swatches w and if so can u plz do me a favor, I’m planning to do some Camo soap there’s gonna be the regular mossy oak, then a blue and a pink. If uve got paces that u think would go good can u send me a pce of each one w my book order so I can see what ur idea vs my idea was as I don’t want to buy mica and get it here and not like the way it goes together that is if u have time and don’t mind doing it for me. I would be so greatful. I’m gonna do a men’s and a woman’s frag., and the mossy oak I’m gonna use a unisex fragrance on it that way whatever women who prefer the mossy oak can use it as well. Also are y’all taking pkg’d soap w you to India cuz if u are I still have several bars that I can/will get out to u this time.
Anyway I wish I new u guys up close and personally I’m so proud of what ur doing buy help under privileged people born into a bad situation y’all are showing them that they mean something in this world as well and that’s what everyone should be doing, God gave u and Benjamin a gift and y’all love and cherish it by sharing the gift w someone else. Y’all are just awesome. Anyway if I can gather more money for yalls trip I’ll give u a holler to send me an invoice to PP that way y’all will have it right away. We wish y’all a Happy Thanksgiving cuz I’m sure it’s been kinda hard givin that y’all are minus a family member in body but he’s there in spirit w y’all watching over each and everyone of you. Happy 1st ur Married Thanksgiving y’all. Talk to y’all soon, Sandra -Your always welcome to call anytime for any reason girl, my cell#1-580-220-9705
Awesome idea, Amanda! I’ll definitely be using it when I need help. By the way, who do you use for your soap making supplies and colors? I’ve been using Bulk Apothecary so far and they’ve been pretty good. Any recommendations?
Thank you for such a fab new resource! Coloring soap can be confusing and difficult, even for experienced soapers. =)
Great idea! I enjoy the photos and color palettes from Design Seeds. Now I’ll enjoy seeing yours, too!
Such a fun and inspiring idea – I love it!
I use natural herbs and such to color my soaps.
